In honor of the 6th Season of Game of Thrones, we at BASA would like to share something of what we know about how they are medicating in Westeros. Therefore, here is a list of some of the more popular strains available across the Narrow Sea *.
If any of our readers know of Westerosi or Essos strains not listed here, please write to us and let us know.
Pure Sativa, Glows in the dark, might be slightly radioactive. Very hard to find, goes for hundreds of gold pieces per gram when you can get it. Semi-legendary; most of the hybrids in Westeros are at least in some part derived from Valyrian Haze. If you smoke Valyrian Haze and attempt to communicate with a dragon, the dragon might actually care. But probably not.
Opportunistic shrub that grows in the waste where the bodies of men and horses have fallen. Doesn't get you high, but it's great for colic, lameness, and, in case you're not a horse, headaches, cramps, and muscle pains. Main source of Dothraki Hemp, used to make horse tack and saddlery. It is known that the Dothraki will smoke their own reins to cure a hangover. It is known...
Rhoynish Serpent Dream:
From Dorne, Ancient Indica dominant strain. High THC content, intense body high produces heightened sensuality and an intense desire to remove all clothing. Produces cravings for odd food and strange bedfellows. The current Dornish craze is to smoke copious quantities of RSD and watch the American Presidential Election.
Sweet Lotus Kush:
Smuggled in from Bravos, but it is believed to be grown by sailors from the Summer Islands who have bred small, compact but powerful plants to grow large supplies of medicine in a small space on their ships at sea. Sativa dominant hybrid. Produces very creative and imaginative psychological states prone to produce fanciful tales and stories. Also known as Davos' Fingers, much to his discomfort.
Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lady Regnant of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, Mother of Dragons Cookies:
Indica dominant hybrid, also known as "Dragon Cookies". Smuggled out of Mereen, all proceeds used to buy ships for the Queen Across the Sea. Tends to promote idealism and political activism and it's use in Westeros is reported to have partially caused the War of the Five Kings. King (Claimant) Stannis Baratheon is reported to have once smoked Dragon Cookies, but didn't feel anything.
* Please note that Westerosi and Essian strains are NOT currently available at BASA, or in the State of California. To be honest, they don't even exist.
